Tergo designs, builds and operates the infrastructure that turns a verified tonne into a tradable, retirable carbon credit: the rulebook, the methodologies, the registry, the verification workspace and the sales channels. For national governments building sovereign carbon markets, and for corporate programmes that need credits they can defend.
Every block carries its class, vintage, verification statement and authorization on the serial itself. Nothing is typed in twice.

Building a sovereign carbon market: a standard the state owns, a registry that can authorize Article 6 transfers, and a route to buyer-country and CORSIA recognition.
Companies that want credits they can defend: their own methodology, independent verification, and a registry record a buyer or auditor can trace to raw data.
Methane, solar, storage, efficiency and removals projects that need a bankable pathway from measurement to issuance and a market to sell into.
Accredited verifiers get direct access to raw data, a findings log and a signing workspace. The platform is built to make your audit faster, not to replace it.
A carbon credit is only as good as the system behind it. We build the whole system, and we keep the one part that must stay independent, verification, outside it.
Every credit on the platform rests on measured data. See how Tergo builds the MRV underneath it.
A crediting rulebook owned by the client: principles, participation rules, project cycle, unit definition, authorization procedure, safeguards, fees and sanctions. Mapped clause by clause to the tests buyers apply: Article 6, CORSIA, the Core Carbon Principles, and buyer-country eligibility criteria.
Sector methodologies built on the international references buyers recognise and tightened with measurement: methane recovery and leak reduction, grid and captive solar, storage, power plant efficiency, cement, waste and removals. Each one versioned, consulted on and adopted through a published process.
Issuance with unique serials, transfer with two-party confirmation, retirement and cancellation, buffer accounts, Article 6 authorization flags and corresponding adjustment records, share of proceeds accounting, and export in UNFCCC reporting formats. Anchored to a distributed ledger for tamper evidence; tokenised on a permissioned network when a client wants it.
Authenticated data from meters, sensors and satellites flows into calculators that apply the approved equations, uncertainty and caps, and produce a machine-checked evidence package. Verifiers audit a controlled system, not a spreadsheet, so verification is faster and cheaper.
Public register, participant portals for developers, verifiers, authorizers and buyers, contract templates, KYC on every account, and routes to government buyers under bilateral agreements, to corporations, to airlines under CORSIA and to trading houses. Exchange listing when volume and price history justify it.
We run platforms under long-term operating agreements, with fixed and published fee schedules, and we certify the national or corporate teams who administer them. The credential belongs to the client; the system outlives any single contractor.
Tergo has done every part of the chain before, from writing a standard to retiring a credit for a corporate client, and it runs carbon accounting inside some of Poland’s largest banks.
Tergo wrote the International Forestry Carbon Credit standard, had it audited and independently assured, and published it, so landowners and developers can run agroforestry projects without the entry costs of the large international programmes.
Under that standard Tergo has issued carbon credits from its own projects, verified by an independent third-party auditor to ISO 14064-2 and 14064-3, and sold and retired them for corporate clients across Poland and the European Union through its own platform, with a Tergo carbon-neutral certification label that clients publish.
TERbit, built and run by Tergo, generates and settles retail emission-reduction credits from everyday actions, a consumer-facing credit system with its own issuance and settlement logic.
Tergoscope, Tergo’s carbon accounting platform, runs inside ING Bank and PKO Bank Polski, and powers a customer-facing CO2 calculator for Credit Agricole Bank. Systems that pass a regulated bank’s audit are the base every Tergo platform is built on.
Tergo now designs national carbon credit platforms for governments: a seven-layer architecture covering legal basis, standard, methodologies, monitoring data, independent verification, registry and market interface, with Article 6, CORSIA and buyer-country recognition pathways built in from the first draft.

A standard without a registry is a document. A registry without a standard is a database. A market without verification is a liability. A working platform has seven layers, resting on trained people.
A new platform earns trust by being assessable. Every rule in a Tergo-built standard cites the international instrument it implements, so a buyer government’s technical reviewer can trace each of its own tests to a rule and to a registry function.
Hosted where the client requires, including in-country; ISO/IEC 27001 programme; append-only audit trail; source code escrow for state clients.
Tergo does not verify what it measures. Verification is performed and signed by an accredited independent body working inside the platform’s verifier workspace, and the registry cannot issue a single tonne without that signed statement.
Tergo does not authorize what it sells. Authorization is the client’s sovereign or corporate act. Sales sit in a separate transaction arm with its own staff and its own contract. Fee schedules are published before anyone asks.
No. Verification is performed and signed by an accredited independent body. The platform does the data checks, calculations and evidence package that make that verification fast, and the registry cannot issue a tonne without the verifier’s signed statement.
No. The client owns the standard. We build it on the international references buyers recognise, mapped to the tests they apply, so the client keeps its methodologies, its registry and its fees rather than becoming a project host under someone else’s rules.
Yes. The registry is multi-programme: a domestic allowance or voluntary programme and an export programme run under their own rules, serial ranges and fee schedules on the same infrastructure, and units never cross between them.
Every registry block is anchored to a distributed ledger for tamper evidence as standard. Tokenised units on a permissioned network are available as a module. The legal unit is always the registry entry.
Rulebook and first methodologies in the first six months, the registry live within twelve, first issuance after the first verified monitoring period. Buyer consultations run from the start, because recognition takes longer than software.
Measurement data and registry records belong to the client, and for governments they stay under national jurisdiction. Tergo operates under a licence with performance conditions, escrow and step-in rights.
Most platform projects fail because they start with the software. We start with the standard and the buyers’ tests, specify the monitoring before anything is built, and put the registry live before the first issuance. Tell us what you want to credit and who you want to sell it to.
