Peatland protection is a dirty but necessary job! - It pays to go green!

Peatland protection is a dirty but necessary job!

All hands on deck! In the climate change mitigation efforts, every help will come in handy - from decision-makers and businesses to every one of us. Luckily, nature is our great ally in reducing the atmospheric carbon pool as it literally traps it ... in a marsh. Peatlands are, in fact, natural CO2e sinks. However, despite their powerful powers, they are sensitive ecosystems. Protecting peatlands should therefore be one of the priorities of pro-climate action across the globe. You can join the efforts with TerGo and UNEP/GRID-Warsaw Center.

However, other gases are also exacerbating global warming. This is especially true since the amount of methane reached a record high in the history of measurements last year. Find out what methane is and where its emissions come from.

Melting glaciers. Now, in East Antarctica! - It pays to go green!

Melting glaciers. Now, in East Antarctica!

It was twice the size of Warsaw or roughly the size of Rome or Manhattan. The Conger shelf glacier had been unstable for some time and eventually collapsed in mid-March. This marked the first such event ever observed in the eastern part of Antarctica. What is more, it happened during - by the region's standards - record high temperatures. Many factors indicate that climate warming may be the cause. For this reason, we must remind ourselves that, wherever we are, we all influence the melting of glaciers.

TerGo has the forest planting mastered! Our campaign in Poland

We dropped everything and went to the Tuchola Forest. But don't worry - we had no intention of permanently quitting TerBit, sustainability reports, and carbon neutrality accreditation. Instead, we took our shovels to Gostycyn near Bydgoszcz for one day to plant... over 1600 trees together with the Las Na Zawsze Foundation. We wouldn't have succeeded without the enormous help of the TerGo community - thank you! Together we change the world for the better.

Eco, bio, or…? Organic food for thought

You can find this kind of shelf practically in every shop. In supermarkets, there is even a whole section! Some people avoid it from a distance; others browse through it, looking for novelties or their favourite products. The so-called organic food! I.e. products labelled as "eco", "bio" and "organic". But which ones are really eco, and which once just carry the name? The difference will soon be easier to recognise, as new regulations related to organic food labelling have come into force since January 2022.
